I would not recommend this kit to a newbie as it remains taped following the clamps to counteract the warped parts. I am enjoying the build despite this as it is a modelling challenge and can be addressed. I also managed to lose a headlamp to the carpet monster so I scratch built a new one. It just needs sanding and perhaps more filler. I also filled some small gaps along the roof line with thin pieces of plasticard.  All in all a challenging yet satisfying build and I still haven’t decided on the final colour scheme. The base colours of cream and red will be completed and I then have to consider hippie colour schemes. A large sun and perhaps a peace symbol somewhere are what I have in mind plus some rusty parts.

I finally splashed out on a new modelling chair as my old one was No.1 sons cast off and it was extremely tatty. Sue has claimed that to replace her even older chair as it is comfortable and is likely to outlast all of us. The new one is designed for large people and it has fold down arms which apparently allow cats to sleep beside you! So far, Sherlock and Winnie took the option of sleeping on me and ignored the comfy arms. Needless to say not at the same time as Sherlock is very possessive of his human servants!
