Finally, after nine extremely busy days in a row at work I have two days off. A beer, a home made chicken jal fraizi, Deep Purple blasting out of the speakers and the prospect of a rugby feast tomorrow on the telly...lovely jubbly. I am truly exhausted because spring is in the air and we are stretched to the gunwhales assessing, treating, etc...Seventy hours of freedom to do as I like and the plan is for simple pleasures this weekend. Dog walking, pub, rugby, pub, cook a Sunday roast, pub....with real ales naturally, preferably Bateman's. There is a theme developing here. I had planned to tackle the wreckage of the garden but with the prospect of gales on Monday I'll leave it for now. However, I can plan for the garden with vegetables and some colourful flowers in mind. That plus my intent to homebrew
should keep me occupied over Easter and April. I truly have become middle-aged....and I like it (Yes, I do listen to Radio 2
For the Calcutta Cup tomorrow....
And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon England’s mountains green:
And was the holy Lamb of God
On England’s pleasant pastures seen!
And did the countenance divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here,
Among these dark satanic mills?
Bring me my Bow of burning gold:
Bring me my Arrows of desire:
Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!
Bring me my Chariot of fire!
I will not cease from Mental Fight,
Nor shall my Sword sleep in my hand:
Till we have built Jerusalem,
In England’s green & pleasant Land.
